Laying all rumours and speculation to rest, Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 12 will arrive later than usual in 2020. Every year the Cupertino-based tech giant normally launches its new iPhone some time in early September. However, since 2020 has been anything but ‘normal’, the 2020 iPhones have been delayed. This was confirmed by Apple’s chief financial officer Luca Maestri during the company’s quarterly earnings call. Tech giant Apple would equip the 2021 iPhone models with touch-integrated OLED displays, as per a report by South Korea-based ETNews. The report says that Apple has placed orders for the touch-integrated OLED display panels to be incorporated into the next year’s iPhone models. The touch-integrated OLED panels, instead of having touch sensor films, come with inbuilt touch sensors, thus making them thinner, as the need for the touch-receptive layer gets eliminated. In June, the Indian government set out a $6.6 billion plan to woo the world’s top smartphone manufacturers, offering financial incentives and ready-to-use manufacturing clusters.
