SRINAGAR: Two terrorists belonging to the Jammu Kashmir Islamic State (JKIS), who had killed a four year old boy and a CRPF jawan four days ago, were shot dead in an encounter in the Waghama area of Bijbehera town in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday. SRINAGAR: The J&K Police has announced a complete wipeout of Hizbul Mujahideen in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district after security forces eliminated three “last surviving” HM terrorists in an encounter at Chewa Ullar on Friday. Inspector general of police (Kashmir range) Vijay Kumar said that HM has been wiped out from Tral for the first time since the eruption of militancy in 1989. Tral now has only five active local militants – all from other outfits. Of the five, three belong to Jaish-e-Mohammad, one to Lashkar-e-Taiba and the other to Ansar Gazwatul Hind, he said. SRINAGAR: A CRPF head constable and two Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists, including a top commander of the outfit, were killed in an encounter in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday morning, IGP (Kashmir Range) Vijay Kumar said. SRINAGAR: One security personnel was killed and two others were injured when two terrorists attacked a temporary naka in Prichoo area of Pulwama district on Thursday. Intelligence sources held The Resistance Front (TRF) – an amalgam of Jaish-e-Mohammad, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujaheedin – responsible for the attack. The Prichoo attack comes a day after terrorists shot dead two BSF personnel in Pandach area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. SRINAGAR: A policeman was killed and another injured when terrorists opened fire at a security forces' patrol party in Pulwama district of south Kashmir on Thursday, officials said. The incident took place in the afternoon near Perchoo bridge where a joint patrol of the CRPF and the Jammu and Kashmir police was ensuring law and order situation, they said. In the attack by the terrorists, Anuj Singh and Mohammed Ibrahim, both belonging to the 10 battalion of the India Reserve Police, were injured, the officials said. SRINAGAR: Top Hizbul Mujahideen commander Junaid Sehrai, son of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, was among two terrorists killed in an encounter at Nawa Kadal in Srinagar’s downtown area on Tuesday. Three CRPF personnel and a policeman were also injured in the firefight, the first in Srinagar in the past two years.
